She was sold out of service in 1916 and eventually found her way into the Med, where Major Bill Tilman bought her in 1954. Tilman took Mischief on a remarkable exploration of some of the World’s most inaccessible mountain regions. He eventually lost her in 1968 off Jan Mayen Island, but her memory lived on in his writings and inspired John Raymond Barker of RB Boatbuilding’s to recreate the original Mischief in Bristol’s Underfall Yard. Launch photos. Launch in November 2007, the new Mischief sailed to Cardiff in January and completed her sea trial in a southerly gale. She delivered her crew safely to their homeport, proving herself to be both solid and dependable at all times.
