"After an exhaustive search we came to the conclusion that no line drawings of “Mischief” exist. Nevertheless, during this search we made some very useful contacts, and came upon a wealth of photos of “Mischief”, some of which showed her hull and underwater shape. In reconstructing the vessel, RB Boatbuilding used these images of “Mischief” as a starting point. With the help of yacht designer Ed Burnett, who has experience with Pilot Cutter design, and a very useful computer programme, we took the "family" resemblance of other Cardiff Pilot boats whose lines, ratios and coefficients exist, then using the hull photos, we arrived at a set of lines to build the replica of “Mischief”."
